Supporting creativity is at the core of our mission at Creative West (formerly WESTAF). For 50 years, we have prioritized creative solutions alongside innovative programming, advocacy, research, technology, and grantmaking.
Over the years, technology has played a crucial role in empowering artists and arts administrators across the field. The widespread adoption of technology has created new opportunities, paving the way for innovations like the Creative Vitality Suite.
The CVSuite Journey
When we launched the Creative Vitality Index™ (CVI) in 2010, our goal was to simplify the comparison of regional creative economies to those of the U.S. and other areas. This key indicator marked the beginning of our next journey: developing a comprehensive data tool that incorporates both for-profit and nonprofit information to analyze trends, advocate for the arts, and demonstrate the impact of the creative sector in communities.
Two decades later, we take pride in supporting numerous government, nonprofit, advocacy, and private organizations in their efforts to showcase their impact. We are honored to have partnered in this vital work.
Onto the Next 50 Years of Innovation
As we celebrate 50 years of innovation and service to the creative economy and look ahead to the next 50, we are redefining our role in the creative economy space. As part of this evolution, we are sunsetting the CVSuite™ tool and its subscription-based model. This means CVSuite, as you’ve come to know it, was officially discontinued on December 31, 2025.
This shift in focus will allow us to continue to support the creative economy field in the western region and beyond through other initiatives. We will concentrate on what must be done to assist in the field and meet the needs of artists, organizations, and communities.
Thank you, CVSuite Community!
To our past and current clients: thank you for your trust, support, and partnership over the years. While we are sad to say goodbye to CVSuite, access to high-quality creative economy data will continue to be a priority for us. We want to support and encourage the evolution of creative economy tools in our sector, such as NASAA’s State Arts and Cultural Production visualizations and the National Endowment for the Arts’ Arts Indicators Project.
As we close this chapter, we are grateful that exciting innovations are afoot in the sector, leaving the CVSuite community in good hands. If you have questions about the CVSuite sunset, please contact CVSuite Program Manager Jessica Gronich.
Trân trọng,
The CVSuite team
