Introducing the Cultural Sustainability Awardees

October 30, 2024

We are pleased to introduce the Creative West Cultural Sustainability awardees! This initiative, generously supported by The Wallace Foundation in partnership with the six U.S. Regional Arts Organizations (USRAOs), is a pivotal part of The Wallace Foundation’s Advancing Well-Being in the Arts initiative.

Cultural Sustainability will provide essential general operating support to organizations with annual operating budgets under $500,000. Selected organizations will engage in a comprehensive two-year program featuring virtual learning and coaching sessions, in-person retreats, and peer-to-peer collaboration, all designed to bolster sustainability and cultural resilience.

This year, 32 awardees have been selected, each representing the breadth of artistic expression found in every state and jurisdiction in the West. The awardees span a myriad of disciplines, including visual arts, theater, music, dance, and more, all united by a shared dedication to cultural sustainability and community engagement. With over $500,000 awarded in total, funds will empower these organizations to continue their vital work, nurturing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the arts as a cornerstone of community well-being.
