Accessibility Policy

Creative West is dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible spaces in the arts for everyone. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we rely on our team and partners to learn and implement practices that enhance the experience for all we serve in the Creative West region and beyond.

Creative West’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, a selected panel of creatives dedicated to the work of accessibility in artistic fields, helps to guide and advise on this work. Members of the committee review, recommend, and evaluate Creative West accessibility forms, messaging, and overall organizational culture. The group is committed to creating an intentional infrastructure at Creative West, and through creative initiatives and partnerships across the western region.

Our accessibility initiatives align with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA criteria to make our content accessible to those with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities and all Creative West content and product users.

We welcome feedback on how we may improve our sites, products, and overall experience by completing this accessibility feedback form.

Request an Accommodation

Please make your request at least three weeks before any grant deadline, in-person event, or virtual event to ensure accommodation requests are met. Creative West offers the following accommodations:

Live Captioning: Live captioning will be provided for events with 50+ registered attendees or upon request.
Large Print: Printed materials for those with low vision can be provided upon request.
Language Translation Services: Creative West’s jurisdiction spans 13 western states and three Pacific Jurisdictions. To better accommodate this region, we are committed to providing language translation for all who live in these areas, including our Indigenous communities.
Accessible Seating: Creative West prioritizes event locations with accessible seating for in-person events. For specific seating needs, please contact us.
Accessible Restrooms: In-person events will have restrooms in or near the event location.
Accessible Parking: Parking options will be near or close to in-person event locations for individuals with limited mobility.

Creative West strives to make our technical platforms accessible to everyone regardless of ability, age, race, or any other personal identifier. We are continuously improving our technical platforms and invite all users to reach out with questions, concerns, or feedback on the accessibility of our sites (WeAreCreativewest.org, CaFÉ, GO Smart, Public Art Archive, and/or ZAPP).

The Public Art Archive (PAA) is a free, searchable, and continually growing online database of completed public artworks throughout the U.S. and abroad, with a suite of resources and tools built for managing public art collections.

ZAPP provides art fair and festival administrators with a suite of tools to digitally collect and jury applications, manage booth payments, and communicate with applicants all in one easy-to-use digital platform. Artists can apply to hundreds of shows nationwide through a central website.
