The Awardees Making Arts More Accessible

June 10, 2026

Art has the profound ability to connect us, but true connection requires us to acknowledge the barriers that still exist. Building a truly inclusive arts community is not a simple task; it demands ongoing reflection, sincere intention, and meaningful action. We recognize that accessibility is a core value that enriches our entire cultural landscape, which requires a continuous commitment to expanding who can experience and participate in the arts.

Today, we are honored to announce the recipients of the 2025-26 Access: An Accommodations Program for Organizations grant. Supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, this program provides grants of up to $500 to current Creative West grantees to help make their programming more accessible.

These funds empower organizations to implement vital accommodations, such as providing ASL interpretation, offering assistive listening devices, creating large-print materials, and participating in accessibility training.

We extend our sincere gratitude and congratulations to these 21 grantees. Through their mindful approach to inclusion, they are doing the crucial work to create welcoming spaces for all.
