WESTAF Announces 2022 Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) American Rescue Plan Grant Recipients

December 13, 2022

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands American Rescue Plan Fund for Organizations (CNMI ARP) is a relief grant program, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, that provides general operating support to eligible arts and culture organizations and individual artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Northern Mariana Islands. The program is delivered in partnership with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Arts Council.
We are delighted to announce that WESTAF will be awarding grant funding to 32 individual artists and culture organizations across the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Each of the 28 individual artists will receive $3,000 in funding and the four cultural organizations will receive $10,000.
A panel representing a diverse group of arts and culture leaders from across the region recommended applications to be awarded. The panel convened in April and discussed each applicant’s submission. Review criteria focused on demonstrated need, as well as public and community benefit.
“Congratulations to the organizations and individual artists who submitted their complete applications on time,” shared CNMI Arts Council Executive Director Parker Yobei. “We thank the National Endowment for the Arts and WESTAF for this opportunity and partnership. We hope to continue to work together to bring opportunities to our artists and community.”
