WESTAF Update Notes #91 | March 2017
From Anthony Radich, Executive Director
This is the 91st in a continuing series of updates about the work of WESTAF
CVSuite™ Now Offering Ethnicity Data
WESTAF’s Creative Vitality™ Suite has recently added ethnicity data to its robust creative economy data and reporting offerings. Now, in addition to having access to the number of creative occupations, industry earnings, creative industry occupations, wages per occupation, and concentration of occupations compared to the national average, users of the CVSuite can view ethnicity data by region, creative occupation, and creative industry. The data are available at the ZIP Code, county, MSA, and state levels. The newly available data can be used in a number of ways. For example, a user could use it to assess and document the level of diversity in an area’s creative economy or to identify the level of diversity in specific creative occupations in a defined area.
IMTour.org™ Officially Launched
WESTAF’s latest technology project, IMTour.org, is now live. IMTour is a web-based system that seeks to facilitate the booking of independent musicians by nonprofit presenters. Through the site, presenters can post opportunities, book artists, and apply for grant funding to help offset the costs of presenting adjudicated IMTour roster artists. Independent musicians can create a free profile with an electronic press kit (EPK) or, for a small fee, upgrade it for greater exposure. In bridging the gap between nonprofit presenters and the indie music scene, IMTour.org seeks to expand audiences and offer new and sustainable professional opportunities for both indie musicians and presenting organizations. To create a profile and post or apply for opportunities, visit www.imtour.org.
Simpler Grants Management with GO Smart™
WESTAF’s newest grants management system is GO Smart. GO Smart is a time-saving and affordable online grants-management system that was designed to improve usability and reduce the time needed to train in order to put it into use. With a modern and responsive design, the system is easy to use for applicants, panelists, and administrators. GO Smart includes all the tools grant administrators need to accomplish the tasks associated with the grantmaking process–from intent-to-apply, application creation, panel reviews, awards, and final reports. GO Smart significantly simplifies the grants-management process. For more information or to schedule a demo, contact Susan Gillespie.
WESTAF-Region State Arts Agencies Seeking Directors
Three state arts agencies in the WESTAF region are currently undergoing transitions in staff leadership. The Montana Arts Council’s longtime Executive Director Arni Fishbaugh retired from the agency in September of 2016. Fishbaugh became director of the Council in 1992. Susan Boskoff, who has been the Executive Director of the Nevada Arts Council for 24 years, will be leaving her position on March 31. Craig Watson, Director of the California Arts Council since 2011, will conclude his tenure at the agency on March 31.
